Is India Safe For Women?
India has been facing the challenge of sexual violence against women, with tens of thousands of rape cases being reported annually. According to the 2021 annual report of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), there were 31,677 registered rape cases across India, averaging 86 cases per day. But do Indian women actually fear for their safety on a daily basis? And how dangerous is India for women really? We wanted to hear directly from locals and hit the streets of Mumbai to find out.
