Build a deck of cards in Google Sheets with MAKEARRAY
I've been wanting to create a tutorial on the Google Sheets MAKEARRAY() function for quite some time, but I couldn't come up with the inspiration for an engaging video.
On the surface, MAKEARRAY doesn't seem very useful and appears little better than RANDRANGE. However, unlike the latter, MAKEARRAY can be used to populate an array with other ranges of data using tools like CELL and INDEX.
In this tutorial, we will generate a 4x13 matrix of playing cards using MAKEARRAY and then dive into some strategies for shuffling the deck in Google Sheets statically and dynamically using the QUERY, SORT, RANDARRAY and COUNTA functions.
Finally, we will combine all of our formulas together into one with the handle LET function.
