Git is a version control system that helps developers track changes to their codebase, collaborate with other developers, and revert changes if needed. Git is a command-line tool that can be used locally, without needing an internet connection.
GitHub, on the other hand, is a web-based platform that provides a centralized repository for Git repositories. It allows developers to host their Git repositories in the cloud and provides collaboration tools like issue tracking, pull requests, and code review.
So while Git is a standalone command-line tool that can be used locally, GitHub is a web-based platform that provides a centralized repository for Git repositories and additional collaboration tools. Developers can use Git without GitHub, but using GitHub makes it easier to collaborate with other developers and share their code with the world.
