This is the last video detailing my sophomore attempt at recruitment...but I'm certainly not out of rush stories.
I know a lot of girls were hurt at some point doing recruitment and I wish there was something I could say or do that could help any of you shake off any doubt you have about your self-worth, but I know there isn't. It took months of pretending to be happy just going to tails with my friends and trying to distract myself until I was able to feel truly confident again. Rush is highly based on luck and connections and is not a reflection of the person you are. What matters most is that you understand your value and surround yourself with people who understand that as well. Check-in with your friends too, they may be feeling some type of way.
ALSO I just want to highlight something I wrote on screen in the video. I was highly emotional the day of and before I decided to drop out. My emotions were much more a reaction to the rush process and insecurities than to the house I was invited back to. I had a very nice time at that house and met wonderful girls, but I was in the wrong headspace. It wasn't the best decision for me to continue the rush process.
THAT WAS ALL REALLY SAPPY BUT I JUST HOPE THIS VIDEO CAN HELP SOMEONE FEEL VALIDATED AND ALSO SO MUCH CRAZY STUFF HAPPENED THAT WEEK AND THE WEEKS THAT FOLLOWED AND I NEEDED TO TALK ABOUT IT. i also hear sooooooo many questions and concerns about greek life from prospective students. overall it's VERY fun and inclusive (whether you're affiliated or not!!!) but there are downsides and the rush process is absolutely one of them
