M16 vs AK-47: Which One Would You Pick?
There are very few weapons in the world that are compared as often as the AK-47 and the M16.
For more than 60 years, these two rival brothers fought for supremacy over each other on dozens of battlefields.
They became the poster boys for conflict and warfare.
They have more similarities than most people care to notice.
And they have many variations.
Especially the AK-47. That weapon has more variations than pizza!
And in terms of fame, no weapon can rival these two.
Aside from millions of news photos and footage, these weapons also found themselves under the spotlight of TV, Hollywood, and video games.
One of the most iconic scenes of M16, if not the most, is its appearance in the 1983 movie Scarface.
AK-47 saw its hand and raised it with love letters by Samuel L. Jackson on Tarantino’s Jackie Brown (1997) and Nicolas Cage on Lord of War (2005).
Its on Mozambique’s flag.
This weapon even managed to sneak its way into the Star Wars universe (Andor AK-47)
But, Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is using a M16 in Predator.
Both guns made their debut in 1997. (Golden Eye 007 for AK-47 and Tomb Raider II for M16)
And since then, if one of them is in a game, the other is almost certain to be found there too.
