Let's discuss how to use your MacBook with the screen closed in MacBook Closed Display Mode or MacBook ClamShell Mode. This essentially allows you to connect your MacBook to a monitor and use it as a desktop computer. To use your MacBook in Closed Display Mode, first connect an external keyboard and mouse. Then connect your Mac to a monitor or other display using a USB-C to DisplayPort or HDMI cable. Then connect your Mac to power, this will sure stop MacBook from going to sleep while lid is closed. It is vital that you keep your Mac connected to power while in use to keep your MacBook awake with a closed lid.
