Saxer Lücke and Schäfler Ridges in Appenzell, Switzerland
We hiked a beautiful 20 mile loop over three days in Appenzell, Switzerland. After parking in Wasserauen, we hiked 4 miles to stay overnight at Berggasthaus Plattenbödeli. The following morning we traversed Saxer Lücke, hiked down to Seealpsee, and then back up to Schäfler Ridge to stay at another hut. On our last day, we opted to take the lift back down to the car. And we got to do it all with my very good childhood friend Hannah! It has been such a gift to live so close to these stunning landscapes and even more precious to explore them with friends.
