Global warming is one of the major threats humanity is facing. There’s plenty of CO2 out there in the atmosphere. In fact, there’s too much.
Burning fossil fuels releases more than 30 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide each year, driving global warming.
What if we can solve this by getting inspiration from nature to scrub the carbon dixoide from the atmosphere.

During photosynthesis in green plants, light energy is captured and used to convert water, carbon dioxide, and minerals into oxygen and energy-rich organic compounds.

Chemists at the University of Illinois have successfully produced fuels using water, carbon dioxide and visible light through artificial photosynthesis. By converting carbon dioxide into more complex molecules like propane, green energy technology is now one step closer to using excess CO2 to store solar energy -- in the form of chemical bonds
