What Is A Circle ?
The circle is one of the simplest forms in geometry, but how is it defined, and what are its essential features ? In this video we explore how circles are treated in different areas of
mathematics. This results in a casual tour of areas such as topology, network theory, discrete mathematics, differential geometry, protective geometry and complex analysis.
We look at circles as loops, metrical definitions of circles, circles treated algebraically, and we briefly touch upon the fascinating theory of the complex structure of the circle.
