[Piano Solo] Yu-Peng Chen - "Circle Dance of the Evernight Castle" from Album「FANTASYLAND」
It's such an honor to be invited by @yu-pengmusic to create a solo piano arrangment of this music from his new album. The first time I heard this song, I was blown away by its melody, progression, and also THE DURATION of this music. I've been making piano arrangements onYoutube for four years now, and my commitment to this craft is deeply connected to Yu-Peng Chen's music. Thanks again to him for bringing us such great music!
I arranged this song with my usual style to keep it as close as possible to the original. For the 2nd time key changed, that's the only part I tried to make something experimental to recreate the layer on the piano. I have actually done sth similar in Arknights's arrangement. (just some attempt, I don't think it turned out to be very effective or good) For the Coda section, where I mainly just used the original piano part, I tried to recreate the distinctive inner voices of the original as much as possible (the second phrase of the Coda also includes other orchestra part from the original). My favorite part is the counterpoint between the accordion and the piano, which is also one of the most challenging parts to play. The reprise of the main theme after the piano fades out at the end was a pleasant surprise. The first time I heard it, I thought the song has ended, but then the theme is played again!!
This is the first time I've remixed such a long single, and I put a lot of effort into both the performance and the arrangement. Although a solo piano can't match the impact of the original, I hope you all like it!
