I was really excited to get the PS Portal, but mine arrived broken. I spent a lot of time trying to get it to update, but it wouldn't work. Sony's customer service was not helpful, and I eventually had to return the device.
There are definitely some advantages to having the PS Portal, such as the large screen and comfortable controllers. However, it might not be worth the $200 price tag if you can accomplish the same thing with other devices.
If you already have a handheld PC, you can use that to stream your PS5 games. There is also the backbone phone controller available that you can use with your phone to stream games.
One advantage of using a handheld PC or phone is that you can use them for other things besides streaming games. The PS Portal is a bit of a one-trick pony, but it's a very good one if you can get it to work.
Overall, I think the PS Portal is a good option if you're looking for a dedicated device to stream your PS5 games. However, if you already have a handheld PC or phone, you can save yourself some money and use those devices instead.
