Introducing the latest enhancement in the Registration process: Map- based geocoding
What does Map based geocoding functionality offer?
• Reformed layout of address input fields with auto suggestions
• A map tile with drag and drop address pinhead which automatically populates the address fields
• Automatic latitude and longitude population based on the abovementioned
• It helps in minimizing the chances of wrong data entry in the system resulting in simplified registration process
Who can use the map- based geocoding feature?
Applicants filing GST REG-01 on the GST Portal for GST Registration can make use of this enhancement
How to use the map- based geocoding functionality while filing GST REG-01?
In the Residential Address in India section, while entering the address details of the applicant:
• Users can select the address from the Locate your address field on the map.
• On typing the address, a list will appear. Select an option and click on Confirm.
• The pinhead on the map can be moved to the appropriate location. Click on Confirm after placing it on the correct location.
• Certain fields under Residential Address will be auto-populated based on the selection of the address.
• Users can easily change the address by clicking on the Reset Address button.
