AirBnB put up results that were okay. Freaky believes the currently slowed down growth rate (due to the push to quality of hosts instead of quantity of hosts lately), as well as the 25% SBC increase YoY is hiding the scale that's apparent in the model when we zoom out. Freaky is excited for 2025 when expenses increase with headcount instead of legacy RSU from the IPO. The buybacks should finally start showing up in 2025 as well as the RSU's slowly fade.
Pinterest put up results that beat but the platform continues to show limited monetization versus what the platform is capable of. We continue to see user count, user engagement and ARPU increase but at a relatively slower rate. Additionally a lot of the scale is currently obscured with the staff up they have done in 2024 for this monetization push. Freaky believes only 1$ in ARPU for Europe and 14 cents ARPU in RoW is extremley low, especially when they are seeing MORE engagement while add load slowly starts up.
