Brock The Dog gets involved in Ireland Vs Australia International Rules, 2004
A missing terrier named Brock from Ballyfermot turns up at the International Rules game in Croke Park.
Brock a Jack Russell Terrier had been gone from his home in Ballyfermot for a number of days when he was spotted by his surprised owners who were watching Ireland play Australia on television.
This is Brock, Ireland's most competitive Jack Russell.
Martin Byrne and his family had settled down to watch the match when they spotted Brock on the pitch. Brock had been missing since Friday night when he was let out for a run but did not come home.
The Byrne household immediately recognised Brock at the heart of the action.
Martin Byrne says the family were shocked but said it was so funny to see him among the International Rules players chasing after the ball. The family have no idea how Brock made his way from Ballyfermot to Croke Park.
Brock was taken from the pitch and went missing again before being spotted on Thomas Street following an appeal on the Gerry Ryan radio show.
