Intel 4770K QEH6 Engineering Sample - Let's Check it Out!
For quite some time I have wanted to test some these later ES variants of the 4770K as I'm sometimes still looking for a great 4770K for overclocking. The 2nd latest Q-Spec "QE6S" was known that it was nearly an immportal CPU. Being able to run VCore values even over 2V for testing purposes and like 3V on the input made it quite interesting. This last version, the QEH6 is pretty much the same thing as retail 4770K, yet some of these are known to be good for overclocking.
I saw one of these for sale on eBay and with the help of some of my fans (Thanks Garrick!) I was able to get it as not all sellers offer shipping directly to Finland. On quick glance I really think that the CPU has been delidded as I can see Loctite super glue type glue remnants around the IHS, so it tells me this CPU could be a reject of someone.
As I started testing it I could see quite quickly that the CPU is not very strong, it is definitely an average one at least, but not like "golden" for multi core runs. IMC on the other hand is clearly bad, as even DDR3-2600 was totally unstable.
