In this video I'll tell you How to Fix Windows defender - 7/8/10/11.
Here are some steps you can follow to resolve issues with Windows Defender or Security at a Glance:
Check for Updates: Ensure that your Windows operating system and Windows Defender are up to date. Microsoft regularly releases updates with bug fixes and security enhancements, so having the latest updates is crucial.
Go to "Settings" (Windows key + I).
Click on "Update & Security."
Select "Windows Update" from the left menu.
Click on "Check for updates" and let Windows download and install any available updates.
Restart your Computer: Sometimes, simply restarting your computer can resolve minor issues with Windows Defender or Security at a Glance.
Run Windows Defender Offline Scan: This scan can help detect and remove malware that may be affecting Windows Defender's functionality.
Type "Windows Security" in the search bar and open it.
Click on "Virus & threat protection."
Under "Current threats," click on "Scan options."
Choose "Windows Defender Offline Scan" and click on "Scan now."
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the scan. Your computer will restart to perform the offline scan.
Check for Conflicting Antivirus Software: Having multiple antivirus programs can cause conflicts and disable Windows Defender. Ensure that you have only one antivirus software installed, and if you find any other third-party antivirus software, consider uninstalling it.
Restart Windows Security Service: Restarting the Windows Security service can sometimes fix issues.
Press "Windows key + R" to open the Run dialog box.
Type "services.msc" and press Enter.
In the Services window, locate "Security Center" or "Windows Defender Security Center" (depending on your Windows version).
Right-click on the service, select "Restart," and close the Services window.
Check Group Policy Settings: If your computer is part of a network or domain, group policy settings might be affecting Windows Defender. Consult with your network administrator or IT support to ensure the appropriate settings are configured.
Use Windows Defender Troubleshooter: Windows has built-in troubleshooters that can automatically find and fix issues related to Windows Defender.
Type "Troubleshoot settings" in the search bar and open it.
Scroll down and click on "Additional troubleshooters."
Under "Get up and running," select "Windows Defender Antivirus."
Click on "Run the troubleshooter" and follow the instructions.
Perform a System File Checker (SFC) Scan: The System File Checker tool can scan and repair corrupted system files that might be affecting Windows Defender.
Open Command Prompt as an administrator (search for "Command Prompt," right-click, and select "Run as administrator").
Type the command: sfc /scannow and press Enter.
Wait for the scan to complete and follow any on-screen instructions if issues are found.
Remember that if you are facing persistent issues with Windows Defender or Security at a Glance, it's best to seek help from Microsoft Support or visit the Microsoft Community forums for further assistance. They can provide specific and up-to-date guidance for your particular system and situation.
