'Has a nation changed its gods?' This DIVINE CONFRONTATION shatters comfortable religion. AUTHENTIC FAITH or lifeless ritual? Though religion can fool man, God is not mocked. A child of God or not, God knows who you are and what is hidden in your heart. Take a step back and look at yourself as God sees you, repent, and depend on Him to overcome temptations. Embrace the transforming power of Living Waters, and cease to remain entombed in religious performance.

SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 2:13-25
MAIN THEMES:
1. Know Who You Are
Israel was called to be leaders, not slaves
Their leadership was meant to follow God's principles
They were experiencing troubles due to disobedience
2. Know What You Did
Israel depended on Egypt and Assyria instead of God
They brought calamity upon themselves
Their actions showed lack of trust in God's protection
3. Know What You Cannot Do
Israel couldn't hide their idolatry from God
They couldn't make themselves clean through external actions
Their attempts to appear spiritual were futile
4. Know That God Knows
God exposed their true nature
Their idolatrous behavior was compared to wild animals
No amount of pretense could fool God
APPLICATION POINTS:
Take honest inventory of one's spiritual condition
Acknowledge sins rather than hiding them
Understand that works cannot earn salvation
Remember God knows everything about us
SELF-EXAMINATION:
Are we trying to find security in temporal things?
Do we yield to sin or righteousness?
Are we honest about our spiritual condition?
Do we make excuses for sin?
THIS WEEK'S ACTIONS:
Take a step back to examine ourselves
Admit and repent of known sins
Trust in God's solution through Christ
Remember we cannot hide from God
