Pressure - IB Physics
In this video I define pressure in physics: force applied per unit area. The variable for pressure is p and the unit is N/m^2 or Pa ("Pascals"). I explain why pressure is a scalar quantity and then do some example math problems (including problems with geometry). I cover the movement of gases from high to low pressure regions until the pressures are equalized, and the general assumption that pressure is equal across all parts of a gas. I conclude with some examples of using pressure to find force and adding the force to free body diagrams to solve problems, and do an example problem using atmospheric pressure.
