This video is a realistic depiction of what it's like to live and work at the park for the company Xanterra. Please note this is 1 person's experience, and everybody views the world differently! Yellowstone is a wonderful place to do seasonal work and this video explains what it's like to be an adult living in shared facilities. Cliff notes below in case you want to copy and paste to save in your phone.
ALL MY LINKS AND WHERE TO FIND ME! https://linktr.ee/HellaBellaOfficial
Xanterra Employee housing:
-minimalist but adequate
•you will have a roommate
•Bring your own linens
•fridge/microwave optional but I recommend it for days you don't wanna walk to the EDR or just don't feel like socializing
•Bathroom either in a shared hallway or suite mate situation
•Either way you will SHARE everything so be prepared for that
•Laundry room (bring detergent)
•Bring toiletries like soap, shampoo, towels, toothbrush, makeup products. You can find it here but you will overpay.
•Again don't panic if you forget something bc gardiner is 5 miles away and Bozeman is 1 hour and 15 min drive to a major shopping area
•Choose your roommate wisely to fit your living style
•Bring snacks! It's nice to have some granola bars or something you can just grab in between meal times
•Laptop, phone, tablet. You might get internet or you might not. Verizon works best out here but I have t mobile and it's been working, just no LTE of course.
•Books, something to entertain yourself when the weather is bad. Otherwise go outside!!
•You should spend very little time in your dorm. I mostly just sleep and shower in mine. Even now I am typing this from the common room.
•I brought stationery from home to write my family and friends, but that's just my weird obsession with writing letters.
•Don't take a job here without realizing what this place means and what it is. For everybody that is different, but you won't see any career advancements coming your way. The position you get hired on for is what you'll be doing. You won't make much money, but all your living expenses are covered and you'll have access to a place that people spend a lot of money to come to.
•Enjoy and feel free to reach out and ask me questions if you are looking into this. I was surprised there weren't more resources and I couldn't find much when searching YouTube. So here you go!
