Kristen Gallerneaux, curator of communications and information technology at The Henry Ford, gives a behind-the-scenes look at the history and mechanisms of the sculpture.

In 2021, The Henry Ford became the official home of multimedia artist Lillian Schwartz’s archive and collection, which contains more than 5,000 2D and 3D objects, including her artwork, personal papers and library, photographs, computer equipment and more. “Proxima Centauri” is on display in The Henry Ford’s “Lillian Schwartz: Whirlwind of Creativity” exhibition through Jan. 1, 2024.
