Free motion embroidery has to be the technique I like the most. it really does feel like painting on clothes. In this video, I'd like to show you how I decided to transform my boring denim jacket and make it stylish and exciting.

Welcome back to the Color of Space channel!
Some time ago, I bought this jacket and really liked it, but I always had this feeling that it’s missing something.
I was recently very inspired by nature and so I decided to decorate this jacket with something related to it.
At first, I thought about painting mountains and trees on the jacket, but later I decided to embroider it using one of my favourite techniques instead. I learnt it while at school and loved it ever since. It’s free motion embroidery.
Free motion for me, is like painting on fabric except I get to use thread instead of paint.
While you don’t have to wait for it to dry, it can take quite a while. It’s something you’ll have to focus on quite a lot so after doing it for a couple of hours you may feel quite a bit of strain on your eyes so make sure you take breaks.
I don’t know what color thread I am going to use yet. I think I’ll decide when Il start working on it.
I started from drawing lines to have an idea where the free motion embroidery is going to go.
Looks like purple is going to do nicely here. I’ll switch to lighter colours later, to gain some depth.
I want to have fun making it so the lines won't be too obvious, I am going to do it
in a bit of an arty way.
I’ve had a few ideas for the shape of the trees but I am curious what it’s going to look like if I make them this way...
The last thread I use is black. It will finish the embroidery off and add some sharpness to it.
