A song from the Chinese revolutionary opera 《白毛女》 (The White Haired Girl), about peasants taking revenge upon the landlords who oppressed them for generations.
The story is about Xi'er, the daughter of a poor farmer, who was enslaved by the despotic landlord Huang Shiren. After suffering many abuses, she fled deep into the mountains. Living for many years in the mountains, Xi'er's hair fully turned white. Fortunately, Xi'er was found by her fiancé Da Chun, who had become a soldier of the communist Eighth Route Army. This song is from the ending, when the landlord Huang Shiren is punished and the villagers rejoice.
