-DINER DASH-

This top-selling game may not have started the time management genre, but it remains one of the more popular examples. In this game, you play Flo, a hard worker who buys an old diner and has to make enough money to fix it up and expand her business.

Essentially, you’ll be performing tasks for your restaurant:
- drag and drop customers to their tables
- guide Flo to take their orders
- put the order to the “service hatch”
- once the meals are done, you deliver the food to the table
- once the customers are finished, you give them the check
- clear the tables before new customers arrive

Customers have a series of hearts that show their mood – the longer they wait the more hearts they lose. When out of hearts, they leave the restaurant and you lose points.

Accuracy and speed are key – you earn points for all successful tasks and combo bonuses for performing the same set of tasks quickly.

If you earn enough money in one level, you progress to the next, and once you progress enough, you’ll be able to open up new restaurants and expand the game setting.

-OVERCOOKED! 2-

Overcooked! 2 is another great outing in the restaurant time management subgenre, one that enhances the original concept – you and your team of up to 3 additional players have to serve a variety of recipes, such as pasta, cakes, burgers, and sushi to customers in a limited amount of time, all while cooking in unusual kitchen settings and dealing with obstacles.

The game essentially follows the usual cooking game principle, but you have to do the cooking in absurd and unexpected kitchens (such as Wizard schools):

You’ll need to coordinate orders and streamline teamwork – otherwise, you’ll be bumping into other players and the whole organization will collapse. Apart from limited time and frantic fellow chefs, you’ll also have to deal with fires, moving floors, portals, and changing settings – one especially memorable level has you preparing salads while flying in a hot air balloon before you conveniently crash in a sushi kitchen.

When compared to the original game, this sequel offers additional interactive levels, restaurant themes, elaborate chef costumes, more cooking techniques, and more exciting recipes to prepare while the kitchen (usually) crumbles around you.

-ROADS OF ROME II-

Roads of Rome II is a resource management game with a simple premise, but with a rich level structure and gameplay execution – in order to cure a poisoned Caesar, you’ll need to build a road that leads to the Gods and deal with many challenges along the way.

Almost everything you achieve in this game will be tied to proper resource management and workforce organization, so you’ll need to:
- gather up the people and materials to build bridges
- gather food in farms, woods, and bushes in order to survive the journey
- pursue specific goals in each level
- work on tasks in a specific order to get the desired effect

As you progress through the 40 available levels, and gather and manage resources properly, you’ll gain upgrades both for your workforce and the buildings they construct.

-SALLY'S SPA-

You play as Sally, whose job is to arrange saunas, manicures, baths, and massages for her clients in order to maintain and expand her business.

This game promises a relaxing rush, while you:
- move customers to the right station, such as Spa, Sauna, or Massage Table, once they arrive
- Hire employees and choose between 65 items that can help your business survive and grow
- deal with various client personalities, such as fashionistas, brides, and couples, and make sure they’re all satisfied with your services.

The game offers 50 levels and 10 different locations, as well as many mini-games you can play to spice things up, such as mud masks, hot stones, bath bombs, and more.

-BIG FARM-

Uncle George has left you his farm – but the farm is in bad shape and you have to use all your skills and help from companions to build a reputable farm business.

Your objective in Big Farm is to grow products, harvest them, and take care of your animals by:
- building upgrades and expanding your land
- making sure your workers are happy
- strategizing your way to a more functional farm

You’ll have plenty of items to buy to help you achieve your goals – you’ll need gold to do so, but the game also allows you to make the most of your hard work, without paying for additions within the game.
