Nick is fortunate enough to have inherited a successful rural practice from his father. The problem is that he isn't especially fond of animals. But Nick's career has its compensations -- notably the opportunity to encourage concerned clients to part with large sums of money, and to meet well-heeled, good-looking women, for whom he's convinced his bedside manner is enormously attractive.
