NierAutomata Game Movie Part1, Extended Edition
Hello Nier community!
Long story short: some time ago I decided to learn video editing in DaVinci Resolve, but was not satisfied with plain and boring learning examples, I wanted to practice on something creative. At the same time, I became familiar with the fascinating story of Nier Automata. I read "Long Story Short", and watched some game videos, and the idea of creating a game movie came to my mind.
I've already seen some attempts to create a movie based on Nier Automata game footage, and all of them had two major drawbacks - first, they lacked content of some side-quests, essentials for the understanding of developing main characters, their decisions, feelings, and storyline unfolding in general. Like, the story of Operators 6O and 21O. And second, they contained too much "gamish" content - routine fights, boss fights, long periods of gameplay when "nothing happened", while I would've concentrated on the story and dialogs. The problem I had at the moment - I was a Mac user and did not own a PS4, that's why I had to re-use footage of other creators, permitted under YouTube® Standard license, or Creative Commons license.
Therefore, I could not include all storylines I intended initially, because I simply could not find appropriate footage, like Emil's story. However, this does not affect the general plot (and Emil's story was not in "Long Story Short"). Also, stories of 2B and 9S, alongside with endings A and B, were merged in a single Part 1 - this was the main amount of work I had to perform.
I hope, you enjoy watching the movie, just like I enjoyed creating it.
