The African National Congress is in discussions with other major political parties to form government, after failing to win a majority in last week's national election. The result, announced on Sunday, is the worst election showing for the ANC; Africa's oldest liberation movement, once led by Nelson Mandela, ending white minority rule. Lecturer in political and international studies at South Africa's Rhodes University Dr Thapelo Tselapedi tells The World's Beverley O'Connor the drop in ANC support was not anticipated.
