Paysafe is an online pmts company. It operates in over 40 countries. You could think of it like Paypal that also accepts crypto currency. Its owns Neteller, Skrill & Paysafecard. Neteller is a digital wallet that allows consumers to add, withdraw and transfer funds to & from merchants & other people. Skrill is a product that allows payments and money transfers to be made through the Internet, with a focus on low-cost international money transfers. Paysafecard is a way for customers to make online payments online without using a bank account or credit card.
The company is #1 in iGaming transactions. Paysafe processes 100% of the poker, casino, sports betting and iLottery in Canada. It is active in 19 US States.
It acquired PagoEfectivo and SafetyPay to gain exposure in Latin America.
Paysafe funded by a SPAC. A special purpose acquisition company is formed to raise money through an IPO then acquire a private business to help them go public. This is also known as a reverse merger or reverse takeover. In March 2021 the merger was completed & Paysafe rec 1.2bn. The SPAC that acquired Paysafe was Foley Trasimene Acquisition II.
