Hawk Crest Wooden Shield | Location Quick Guide | Elden Ring
The Hawk Crest Wooden Shield is a medium shield with a good ratio between weight and defense. The Hawk Crest Wooden Shield can be upgraded to +25 with the use of Regular Smithing Stones. The Hawk Crest Wooden Shield's default skill is Parry. Using this skill timely with an enemy's melee attack will allow you to deflect it and break their stance, giving you time for a critical attack. The skill does not cost FP, and on medium shields (like the Hawk Crest Wooden Shield), Parry has 6 start-up frames and 2 parry frames at 30 FPS.
Additionally, the Hawk Crest Wooden Shield can also be infused with the following Ashes of War:

LOCATION
The Hawk Crest Wooden Shield is located within a large armory in Stormveil Castle, in Limgrave. The room is locked behind an Imp Statue and requires a Stonesword Key to gain access.
Beginning at the Rampart Tower Site of Grace, exit out the North doorway, immediately head East to jump onto the next two rooftops, before jumping down to find the room with the Hawk Crest Wooden Shield. Although there are no enemies on the route to the door, the armory does have two Exile Soldiers guarding the items inside. Alongside the Hawk Crest Wooden Shield, the Misericorde and Iron Whetblade are also found here.
You can reach this area another way, however, you will have to face additional enemies along the route, including a Grafted Scion right before reaching the fog door.
