1.Stolzenfels Castle is a former medieval fortress castle turned into a palace, near Koblenz on the left bank of the Rhine, in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. After substantial renovation work the castle and its parks were reopened in 2011. The castle is open to the public.
2.Marksburg Castle. It is one of the principal sites of the Rhine Gorge UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fortress was used for protection rather than as a residence for royal families. Of the 40 hill castles between Bingen am Rhein and Koblenz the Marksburg was one of only two which had never been destroyed and at least the only one that had never fallen into disrepair. The castle is open to the public
