A Messy Situation with a Squatter
What’s up, everyone! Today, I’m sharing a crazy story from one of my students who recently went through one of the hardest real estate deals they’ve faced. It was a microflip in Florida that involved a tricky squatter situation. Well, technically, it wasn’t a squatter—it was the property owner’s brother, which made the situation even more complicated! The buyer almost walked away and wanted his earnest money deposit (EMD) back, but with a bit of guidance, we helped him stick it out and close the deal.
The buyer ended up paying the squatter $8K to leave, but then things got more complicated when he allowed the guy to stay in an RV on the property. In this video, I’ll explain how I guided my student through the situation, why staying calm and negotiating wisely is key, and what to watch out for in these kinds of tricky deals.
