Whispers
Someone asked me recently why I sometimes work just a single color way.
For me, my TextureScapes are one big playground. It means I don't have to think at the start about where I'm headed. Instead I can just play. It's where I experiment with different stitches using different yarn and different needles because each one will bring a new unique effect to the piece.
It's where I get frustrated when some fibers don't cooperate and where I cheer when a fiber does something unexpected that's absolutely perfect. It's the closest I can come to finger painting with stitch. I cover up lots of things up. I won't call them mistakes. They were just learning curves that landed in dead ends.
It's where I remember the importance of play so that when I move to my next Wildscape , I can take the lessons from a TextureScape with me.
This may be nothing yet, but these little Whispers of Hope will become something soon.
