Most PhD students writing their thesis don't keep it simple, they go straight for the detail and complexity, leaving their examiner wondering, "Is it just me?! I don't get it!".

So many PhD students do this, and it’s such a common pitfall. But - skipping over the basics can actually make your thesis tough to follow, leaving your examiner lost and frustrated.
Think about it - your examiner hasn’t been living inside your research world. They’re coming to it fresh, without all the context you have. That’s why it’s essential to lay down some groundwork before you hit them with all the details. In this video, I’m going to walk you through the steps you need to make sure your examiner is with you from start to finish. We’ll look at how to build up your thesis from the foundations, so your reader feels guided and engaged, not overwhelmed and confused!
