One of the major problem with distributed systems nowadays is that we usually work with very high level abstractions and we don't understand anymore how a distributed system is supposed to work, what challenges do we have and what patterns of distributed systems we can use to overcome them. In this video I dive deeper into the concept of write-ahead logging in distributed systems. What problems does it solve? How do we go about implementing it? How does it really look in practice?
