DLD Nature is a new conference co-founded by Steffi Czerny and Maria
Furtwängler that focuses on the urgent issue of biodiversity loss and nature
protection. It brings together experts from science, entrepreneurship, business,
politics and culture.
Nature is not a “nice-to-have” but essential for human survival and prosperity, the
hosts make clear in their opening remarks. Protecting biodiversity and natural
ecosystems is key to fighting climate change and providing vital services.
There are significant economic opportunities in investing in nature and restoring
degraded ecosystems. Nature-based solutions can generate jobs and business
value.
Reconciling nature and human society is both urgent and attractive. It’s not just
about conservation, but about our own wellbeing and security.
What’s needed is a collective effort, knowledge-sharing, and a shift in mindsets.
