Many Kpop idols go through a mental breakdown in the industry. They try to hide what they feel. It's sad to see how Kpop idols are suffering from mental health. We wouldn't really know what they are going through! ☹️
Lee Sun-mi aka Sunmi, the ex-Wonder Girls star is one of K-pop’s most famous female singers. She released her solo debut single “24 Hours”, and achieved an all-kill on music charts.
On August 22, 2017, she released the single “Gashina”, which was a huge success. She then produced two other hit singles: "Heroine" and "Siren".
On the 20th of August,2020 Sunmi released the music video for her song Borderline. The lyrics had a very personal feeling to her and are inspired by her own past struggles. Sunmi felt confident enough to share her experience in the MV. Her facial expressions throughout the MV showcased her performance was too real. Like she did not want to fake being ok but in her line of work, you have no choice.
In the recent episode of Mnet's 'Running Mates' that aired on December, 16th Sunmi confessed that she was diagnosed with a borderline personality disorder. Sunmi confessed how hard it was for her after she left Wonder Girls. She added"At that time, it was more heartbreaking than my body hurting. I made my solo debut and joined Wonder Girls again, but I was given much time to think and I think those times I had to think to myself ate me away."
