Escape From Tarkov is one of the most fun video games that I have every played. That being said, as a new player it can be incredibly overwhelming and often times incredibly frustrating. As you learn more of the mechanics of the game and learn the maps more you will get more confident taking more firefights and learning how to survive those fights is the next big challenge. After a few raids or even a few days of constant death it can be tempting to rage quit or think about giving up all together, but if you stick it through it will get better and things will start turning around. Here are some of my top tips to survive more raids.
Try the Headphones
People tend to either love or hate the tactical headphones in Tarkov, but wither way using them at least for a little while can provide huge advantages. If you love them you will benefit from hearing your enemy from farther away which can be incredible helpful. And if you hate them, trying them out at least reveals to you how much noise you make to other people that wear them which will help you take engagements more carefully.
Engage on your own terms
It can be incredibly tempting to rush into a firefight because you are panicked or because you don't want to miss the opportunity for some good PvP. But rushing into a fight often leaves you at a disadvantage. Slowing down a but before you take a fight can help you gain more knowledge of the situation so that you can come out on top.
REPOSITION
This is one of the most important things to learn in this game. If a firefight starts and doesn't immediately end, it is almost universally a good idea to reposition. If you are exactly where your enemy things you are, your chances of surviving drop tremendously. Repositioning to a new place of cover, a new height advantage, or even pushing the enemy can help you stay in control.
Know when to leave a fight
This can be incredibly difficult to do since this game is so focused on loot, but knowing when a fight isn't worth taking or isn't worth finishing is going to help you survive more raids and extract with he loot you have more often.
Never Underestimate
The more comfortable you get with the game it can be easy to start underestimating your opponent or even the scavs. I have died countless times because I went into a room thinking "it's only a scav in here, I'll be fine" and I let my guard down and I get one tapped. The same thing can happen when you see enemies that appear to be low geared. Every gun in the game can one shot you in the face so underestimating an opponent at any level is a bad idea. Take every engagement like your life and your loot depends on it.
Thanks for checking out the video! I hope this helps!
