Wifi Direct Hardwired: Follow the wifi direct adapter setup instructions above, the only difference is you would plug your computer directly to your router via ethernet cable and you don't need to download the adapter driver.
FREQUENCY BANDS:
Connecting to the right frequency band is huge. 5GHz or above are the bands you should connect to. 2.4GHz has the range, but the data transfer speed is relatively slow. However, if you are farther away from your router, then 5GHz could be even more spotty than 2.4GHz. For ideal performance, you should try to be as close to your router as possible, even have a direct line of sight to it.
