The GIANT Company chose Swisslog’s expertise to enable its e-grocery automated order fulfillment. Since the AutoStore-powered facility in Philadelphia opened, it has improved productivity, shortened delivery times, and helped the brand expand into a new market.
The automated order fulfillment center has enabled The GIANT Company to improve picking productivity by 3X compared to manual fulfillment operations. It has also increased the percentage of e-grocery customers that can be served with same-day home delivery. At the heart of the automated order fulfillment solution is an ambient AutoStore system with more than 15,000 storage bins, three picking ports and eight put-away ports.
