Ark: How to Solo Tame A Quetzal! Quetzal Taming Tutorial (2018)
Having trouble taming Quetzals in Ark Survival Evolved? I’ll show you how to solo tame a quetzal in this tutorial video / guide. It’s not as hard as you think. This video was made in 2018 and is possible after the flyer nerf.
To tame the quetzal in Ark you’ll need a good Argent, a crossbow, grappling hooks, parachutes, a good longneck rifle, and tranq darts. In order to do this you need to fly your argent to the quetzal, jump off, parachute, then shoot your argent with a grappling hook. Once you’re hooked to your argent proceed to whistle move it and use whistle attack to close in. When you get close to the Quetzal, whistle your bird to move only (leave on passive) and go for longneck rifle headshots. Repeat this process with 15-30 tranq darts until the tame is unconscious. Make sure you tranquilize it over land quetzals have the annoying tendency to knock out in water.
Once you KO the quetzal, put up wooden spike walls in a perimeter as quickly as you can. Then, feed it plenty of narcotic and Rex kibble once it’s hungry. Taming a quetzal in Ark isn’t as hard as you think, you just need your trusty grappling hook and a little sense of adventure.
