Multi Step GitHub Actions Example
In this multi-step GitHub Actions tutorial we provide a simple example in which a GitHub Actions workflow is broken down into multiple steps. Too often when people get started with continuous integration with GitHub Actions, they are taught with examples that have only one build step. That's a great way to learn GitHub Actions, but it's not a good way to build a real-world workflow. So here I create an 8 step GitHub Actions Workflow and demonstrate how a CI/CD build should be broken down to make it easier to update, understand and troubleshoot. And while the concept of multi-step pipelines or GitHub Actions workflows is a complicated one, this example doesn't build any actual code, so you can reproduce this multi-step GitHub Actions example on your own, in your own repository, and hopefully gain an appreciation for this important continuous integration and delivery concept.
