Google ‘site:’ Search Operator: Hack for SEO Pros
“site:” is one of the most common and basic Google search operators to get more defined results on Google.
Basically, you can treat “site:” as an extra filter to show results from a particular website or even a certain subfolder (as I demonstrate in this video).
This method is commonly used to check pages already ranked on Google, for keyword research, and for competitor research as well.
For websites that don’t have an internal search function or where the e-commerce search feature is not providing the intended results, I sometimes prefer using “site:” to get the results I want from Google.
There are many other search operators to learn, and this is just one of them.
Don’t forget, you can filter a certain keyword within your website or domain and then choose a few links for internal linking opportunities.
This is considered a free tool for SEO enthusiasts or digital marketers in general.
