When is the first time we seen batman Glide With his main cape and not a separate gliding wing? #dccomics
The History of Batman Gliding originates in Batman: The Brave and the Bold #64 from March 1966, But even then Batman Admits he has a separate glider for True Gliding and his cape is only for breaking falls or small distances. We also see some other instances of Batman Gliding during the Bronze age.
For example a quick instance in Batman #312 in 1979,
As far as true Main Cape Gliding there is two instances of the Birth of Gliding,
There is The Michael Keaton Batman Films, but this is debatable, some may consider this a Custom Cape that Keaton has to adjust.
So if you want true quick gliding, that actually comes from The 2001 Batman: Vengeance Video Game.
This in my opinion is the first time we see Batman use his standard Cape to Glide at will, the ironic thing is, Animated Series Batman in the Cartoons was never able to Glide with his standard cape, He always used a separate Glider.
Up Until The fist instance of DC Animated Universe Batman Gliding outside a Video Game was in Justice League VS Fatal Five which came out in 2019.
The important context here is this movie came out long after the heavy influence of the Nolan Films and Arkham Games that truly imbedded Cape Gliding into the Batman Mythos,
As prior to those releases, Batman Gliding with his main cape was a rarity.
