Lean: How Did DJ Screw Die?
Robert Earl Davis Jr, a Houston DJ better known as DJ Screw, created the “chopped and screwed” DJ technique inspired in part by lean. Lean is the nickname for a mix of codeine cough syrup and soft drinks.
Unfortunately, lean played a role in his death. Widely seen as a party drug, lean is addictive – and as lethal – as any other opioid, especially if it’s mixed with alcohol or other drugs.
