I started this project from some drum loops I made straight from the TR-8 shortly after receiving it. I purposely only used effects from within the TR-8 (including audio-in for sidechaining) so as to make it more distinguishable.
The Roland TR-8 is a modern incarnation of Roland's TR-808 (1980) and TR-909 (1983) drum machines. While the originals weren't commercially successful due to their "unrealistic drum sounds" they would later be utilized by underground artists to become two of the most influential and widely recognized drum machines to date.
If you are an electronic producer I highly recommend the TR-8 or the newly released TR-8S, why spend time looking for good samples when you can have the real thing right at your fingertips?
