A French Castle Neglected for Centuries | Chateau de Châlucet
Chateau de Châlucet is a Historical Monument in France. Located in Saint-Jean-Ligoure, this French castle was designed to express power and become a royal fortress—the largest fortified castle in Limousin. Worth mentioning is the Jeannette Tower, which is believed to have been built as a defensive keep in the early 13th century. Since the 1990s, the castle has undergone several restoration campaigns and lies equipped with new staircases, platforms, railings, and pathways for a safe visit. Tour guides through the castle are available but the tourist circuit is FREE.
