ESL - Theme, motif and symbol
In this lesson, Mr. P. discusses what themes, motifs, and symbols are when used as literary devices. He provides examples from the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Crucible, Hamlet, and Romeo and Juliet. At the end of the video, he explains the differences between the three literary devices for better insight.
This lesson is designed for intermediate students who wish to improve their English and those above levels who wish to clarify doubts about this topic.

Mr. P. is a Canadian English and History Teacher from Toronto, Canada.
He has been an English Teacher since 1997, teaching adults and adolescents in Toronto and Rome.
He is an Honorary Fellow in the English Language at La Sapienza University in Rome. In the past, he was also a Language Monitor at the University of Toronto. He has also taught English to many important politicians and celebrities in Italy. He is a certified English Teacher specializing in TEFL, TESL, TESOL (Arizona State University) & TOEFL. Since 2018, he has been attending Queen's University. He has been teaching ESL in Toronto, Canada, since 2018.
