A few months ago I rescued this table from the trash, and stripped and refinished it. It is solid white oak, with gorgeous ray fleck patters in the wood grain.
Since then it has become our main dinging table.
There are two problems. First, it's too short. We like a table that is about 29.5-30" tall, whereas this one was closer to 28" tall. So I want to add two inches of height.
Second, there were no leaves. It was built to have leaves, but none were found when we rescued the table. So I want to build two leaves for the table.
Adding to the challenge, the table top is highly figured white oak, so we need something that matches.
