Begining of every winter Delhi is engulfed by smoke. Air pollution begins to rise as the wheat sowing season begins. Farmers in Haryana and Punjab set their fields on fire as a quick way to get rid of the rice stubble from their fields. But this stubble burning has a massive impact on the air quality of North India. Is there a solution? A new technique of converting stubble into compost has been developed by the Indian Agriculture Research Institute in Pusa. This is called the PUSA Bio-Decomposer. Can this be a game-changer?
