Dramatic moment: Russian tank falls off narrow bridge and 20 more tanks destroyed by Ukrainian mines
Russia launched a huge attack on Ukraine which failed in spectacular fashion. Dozens of tanks and armoured vehicles launched an assault on Avdiivka. Which is a town in Donetsk oblast, about 30 miles south of Bakhmut. Drone footage showed huge columns of vehicles charging Ukrainian lines.
Before being decimated by artillery, mines, and anti-tank missiles. More than 20 tanks and armoured vehicles were destroyed in a few hours. Additional drone footage shows how one tank rolled over on its way into battle. It was trying to cross a narrow bridge but misjudged the gap and fell. Avdiivka has little strategic value, but is of huge propaganda significance. Putin has promised his people that he will ‘liberate’ the whole of Donbas. And Avdiivka is one of the towns that stands in the way of that aim.
