The story takes place at the end of the 13th century, during the
last crusade at Saint-Jean-d'Acre. The Knights Templar
succeed in retrieving the Holy Grail: the cup used by
Jesus Christ and his twelve disciples during the Last Supper and who
used to collect the blood of Christ when he was taken down from the
Cross. But the knights are overwhelmed by numbers
attackers and must evacuate the city. The Brotherhood of
shadows also covets the Holy Chalice and tempts by all
ways to get it back. The Templars conceal the Chalice
in a Cistercian monastery near their
principal commandery of the South of France. Nevertheless the
brotherhood manages to find him, a fierce fight then breaks out
between Muslims and Christians.
